A development tool set called HealthKit is working behind the screen offering data and information about Health and related third-party apps. Guess why? Apple’s HealthKit for iOS

HealthKit is a programming framework that allows iPhone app developers the ability to access and share health-related data between apps or into Apple’s Health app where it can be displayed on your dashboard. Briefly called “at a glance” dashboard of their daily health activity, so that a diabetic can track their blood sugar and food intake or a runner can learn their distance and elevation.

Carrot Fit takes a different approach to track workouts and coach exercise, consistently. This iPhone app uses HealthKit in a lot of ways like syncing your weight and exercise data into the Health app while drawing data from Health and other apps to ensure you’re staying true to your goals.

Dedicated to helping iPhone owners track and improve on their runs, HealthKit allows MapMyRun to sync workout data and provide it to your central Health app dashboard.
